Our Projects

The BDC is continuously aiding small businesses and giving back to the commmunity in a variety of ways. Here are few things we are doing today:

Culinary Business Center (CBC)

The BDC is very excited about its new and upcoming project, the Culinary Business Center. The CBC will be a shared-used commercial kitchen incubator, a place where caterers and specialty food producers can prepare, cook, and package their food products in a fully equipped and certified kitchen.

Benefits include:

  • Access to shared, centralized facilities
  • Tenants only pay for the hours used at affordable rates
  • On-site assistance from a food industry specialist
  • Access to capital and business support from the BDC
  • And more!

The Culinary Business Center is perfect for new or expanding food businesses and is a great economic development tool. For more information, please contact Alex Gomez at alex@wccbdc.org or by phone at (510) 223-9900.

Cooking Up Success

Opening a restaurant? Be prepared. Take the restaurant start-up program, Cooking Up Success. Offered at Contra Costa College this Fall (September - November 2007).  The business training will cover the A-Zs of owning and operating a restaurant and ensure that you have the necessary ingredients for success. In addition to the training, you will receive individualized assistance from the BDC, including financing and marketing assistance and general start-up support.
