Sarah Obasi began her dream by demonstrating her braiding skills on her daughters and other family and friends. One of her well known clients includes Latoya London from “American Idol”. Sarah’s intricate braiding technique soon caught others’ attention.
Sarah Obasi and Obasi Obasi came to the BDC for business assistance in November 2005. Working closely with the BDC staff, they were ready to open in January 2006. The BDC walked Sarah Obasi and her husband Obasi Obasi through questions about various start-up issues.
“They [BDC] did a lot and exposed me to information that I didn’t know,” Sarah commented. “The BDC did research for me on the start- up costs and made sure I wasn’t paying more than I needed to.”
